FAQs - booking Martinique flights

  • Are there direct flights from the central parts of the United States to Martinique?

All flights from the central parts of America have at least a single stop on the way to Martinique. If you are departing from Dallas Love Field (DAL), the easiest route that will take you the least possible time is to fly to Newark, where you will board a flight with a single layover to Martinique’s Fort-de-France.

  • Besides FDF, which are the other destination airports for travelers from the United States’ East Coast to Martinique?

Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF) is the main destination airport for most East Coast American travelers. Travelers departing from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) can, however, consider other neighboring airports as destinations, with a single layover, such as Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in St. Lucia and Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados. UVF is approximately 26 km from Martinique’s south coast.

  • Do I need a visa to fly from the United States to Martinique?

U.S. citizens traveling to Martinique for business, tourism, or any other purpose will not need visas as long as their stays do not exceed three months. You should, however, equip yourself with a three-months-valid passport with a return ticket indicating when you be leaving Martinique.

  • Which airlines offer direct flights from Miami to Martinique?

Most travelers from Miami to Martinique’s Fort-de-France use Miami International Airport (MIA) as their preferred departure airport and FDF as their destination airport. To travel nonstop from MIA to FDF, consider using either American Airlines, Air France, or Air Antilles.

  • What are the traveling guidelines for pregnant women traveling from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Martinique?

As a pregnant woman planning to travel to Martinique from North Carolina-based Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT), you should note that most of the airlines operating on this route, key among them being American Airlines, will allow you to travel with limited restrictions if your pregnancy is under seven months. Pregnant women in their eighth month will be required to come with their safe-to-travel letters from a recognized health care institution or physician.

  • Apart from Fort-de-France, which other cities are served by FDF?

FDF is the main airport serving Martinique’s capital, Fort-de-France. Other than Fort-de-France, travelers flying from various parts of the United States to nearby cities such as Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago and Cumana, Venezuela, can also use FDF as their destination airport and then connect via the numerous land transport options in Martinique, such as taxis and buses. • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Martinique flight deals.
  • If you are planning to fly to Martinique to witness Le Tour de Martinique, an annual cycling race held in July, please remember that you will likely incur higher rates for your airfares. The flight fees for most airlines would often proportionately rise with the demand realized during this period.
  • If you rent a car in Martinique for your family trips, please remember that, based on Martinique rules, children under the age of 12 should not travel in the front car seat. Children under the age of 6 must be secured with dedicated child safety seats. For convenience, you should inform your car rental agency prior to your arrival at Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF) that you will need a child safety seat.
  • If you are traveling from the United States to Martinique on a limited-time schedule, consider the flight hacking option. With this option, you will save time by booking two tickets, each with a different airline, which will help you to save time and money resources by avoiding a layover. For instance, you can book your first flight with American Airlines from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to San Juan (SJU), and then book another ticket for your flight from SJU to FDF with Iberia Airlines.

They charge me for luggage which is was included on the ticket

Good aorcraft 777 but Worst food ever Breakfast was a bû’with matonnaise… Staff was nice but invisible most of the flight

Business class in the second leg - CDG-EVN was a disaster.

worst experience ever i choose my seat in advance and also have my seat selected in my boarding and the they told me that my seat has been changed without notify me

I have used Air France and KLM many times it will help if they change their menu's feel like it's been the same for years!!!, Especially the breakfast. Overall the flight was good and enjoyable.

No birding was given for next trip on same carrier, food was very moderate.

We transited through Chad and what was supposed to be a 1hr 20 minutes transit time lasted over 4hrs. We didn't get regular updates until we complained. After a 10hr flight from Paris no form of refreshment given and finally arrived Abuja over 6hrs later and none of my bags came

Lost luggage, 2 bags were badly damaged and one of the bags came open.

The line at boarding was not well organized and managed

28 hour delay at Fort Worth/Dallas airport, part due to weather which was unavoidable, but various other reasons - no pilot, no fa, mechanical problem, plane too small, too big, crew out of flying time, seat configuration problems.... endless and hourly updates with a different excuse. Finally told us about 3.00 am, that the flight was delayed to hours later.

Experience was bad. 3.5 hour delay for a 2.5 hour trip. There was no r Transparency about the reason for the delay and it was done 30 mins at a time.

Original flight delayed several times and finally canceled at 2:30 in the morning. Staff at the gate was not very helpful in resolving problems or communicating why there were delays. I spent 34 hours at the airport before I could leave, they couldn't book me on another early flight even after canceling my original flight. Next flight available after my original flight was canceled was 22 hours later. I will never fly American Airlines again.

very very tight seats unfriendly crew who do not seem to care about the comfort of their passengers and do not know how to smile poor ground staff support at LHR and PHX

The boarding process and flight were great. However, I waited about 40 minutes for my luggage. It did not come up on the designated belt. Instead, everyone’s bags were on a cart. Not sure what the issue was, but we were not informed until another passenger went looking for her bags and found them.

There were delays on both ends. It made it less than excellent. This plane was great though

AA1537 the AC was not working properly. It was very hot and uncomfortable.

So uncomfortable to sit in the tiny space on a long, international. Food was rough. Please, less white flour and processed food.

Worst experience flying American Airlines. I fly with them often, so I was super disappointed in the service I received at gate 30 in LGA on May 24, mid-day. The flight was delayed twice. I was patiently waiting in the American Airlines lounge when I received the notice on my app that the plane was boarding 45 minutes before its newly re-scheduled take off of 4 pm (from the orginal 1:45 pm then 3:00 pm). It took me 5 min to travel from the lounge to the gate and when I arrived there at 3:20 flight gate attendant told me the flight had closed and that they announced for passengers multiple times. I showed them the notification on my app and they were really rude and unempathetic. The person who rescheduled my flight at customer service wasn't any happier but was at least helpful in getting me on the next flight.

Flight was 1/2 hour delayed leaving Phoenix. Otherwise it was an average flight. Flight crew on this trip was very nice.

Unable to initiate refund/reschedule the ticket #worst experience #lost 900$

Flight was delayed for almost 3 hours. Communication of gate change was poor. Email and screen said one gate and it was a different gate from that. Gate changed first to 64 B and then to 64 C. Originally it was 68B. 64C was not communicated properly!

This was a red eye return, so I doubt there would be anyway to make it better. Other than adding beds.

Direct nonstop flight was great. Flight was delayed and the crew announced a 2h delay on the sound system. 30 min or so later I hear my name on the sound system for immediate board. Several other passangers were late too. Reason: The crew incorrectly announced a 2h delay when in reality they meant a new boarding time at 2pm.

Plenty of room in the exit row. Sat on the plane an hour before taking off.☹️ Landed late and had to wait for gate availability.

Flight was on time early arrival better entertainment good staff.everything was excellent

Delayed leaving. On arrival we were taken to the airstrip and had to get off onto an over crowed bus, not all that passengers fit. Drove around the airport for 20 + minutes. Taken off the bus told to go upstairs 3 flights then all the passengers had to walk a mile or more , those of us old there was no one to direct us to were to go. I asked several people with no answers. Once I got to baggage claim my bags were not on the right bag claim. Once again asked for help and finally someone found my bags on a different carasel. Very frustrating.

Excellent host on board. Not so friendly check-in staff. Older plane with no food or entertainment due to short flight. Friendly captain and crew.

I don’t think there was entertainment? No mention of it. It was a good flight. Only complaint was my seat cushion was not attached and kept slipping.

They canceled the flight on us very close to the flight date .

It was cancelled. And Kayak/Kiwi pocketed the money. Competence, ethics and customer service would be an idea.

There was nothing to like about this airline and everything needs improvement

Pros: "Nothing the flight was super late and there was no communication as to why or even and announcement to say it was late. I missed my flight to France lost a night in a hotel and missed an important event on my itinerary."
Cons: "My flight"
Cons: "it was too hot at the waiting gate in San Juan and the flight was delayed for about one hour and fifteen minutes. the terminal building smelled of mold."
Cons: "the arrival process in San Juan was horrible. passengers walk in the sun towards immigration and customs is way too long. Standing and waiting in line at immigration without any immigration officer took almost 25 minutes. that was horrible."
